THE WORD BEHIND THE VERSE

צֳרִי

TSORI

noun

Balm · Salve · Remedy

The Bible was written across ancient languages and cultures. Individual words can carry layers of history and meaning that are easy to lose in translation. TSORI explores those words and considers how they can remain present in contemporary daily life.

THE IDEA

A word can stay with you.

TSORI begins with words. A word can carry many meanings—and the words of Scripture are not fixed to a single moment. Each time we meet them, they can speak differently, depending on what is happening in our lives. God knows what we need, and he meets us there. These verses are meant to open reflection: a line to ponder on, and to return to.

THE DAILY MOMENT

A quiet moment,
held open.

To stop.

To read.

To think.

To remember.

Morning coffee or afternoon tea can offer a moment to slow down. TSORI lets a few words meet you there—not to make the moment dramatic, but to return your attention to meaning, gratitude, and the presence of God in daily life.

SCRIPTURE

Chosen for it's depth.

TSORI currently uses the World English Bible. The lines and verses are selected because of their depth—not because it is the most familiar, decorative, or easy to place on a product. The process is intentionally considered: each verse should invite attention beyond the first reading, and your understanding of its meaning may vary from each pondering.

THE PURPOSE

Comfort. Relief. Reminder.

Some days call for encouragement. Others for patience, gratitude, or courage. And some simply ask for a reminder that God is near. Each TSORI piece carries words that can return your attention to a thought, a verse, or a moment of reflection—without making promises it cannot keep.

TSORI, noun: balsam, salve, remedy

“An old word for a simple idea: some things exist just to make a hard day a little easier.”

Each piece begins with a single line, chosen from the World English Bible for what it says rather than how well it fits a template. One line, one piece—designed in Norway and made to order, one at a time.
